USB is already supported. Please enquire on the QGIS mailing list if you are trying to identify a specific GPS that will work.

Just wanted to add my bit: when you use the script you posted you’ll get two “extra” databases: “List” and “Name” because of the table header.

Changing the line
LIST=$(psql -l | awk ‘{ print $1 }’ | grep ‘^[a-z]‘ | grep -v template | grep -v postgres)
to
LIST=$(psql -l | awk ‘{ print $1 }’ | grep ‘^[a-z]‘ | grep -v template | grep -v postgres | grep -v List | grep -v Name)
corrects the problem. There’s probably a better solution, but this one’s really fast to implement.

In the beginning you are pointing to the CODING docs, but I think (because you are referring to the dependecies), that you mean the INSTALL docs (I know where to find, but itś just for pointing new comers to have a good start)?

I do a lot of mapping for field sales forces. Have to take into account all types of terrain which may impede travel. I use a program that is not the same or as complicated. But the concepts are similar. Your article will help me immensely when producing a viewable map with the output of territories and regions.
